Most of Mike’s career has been within
the real estate and financial services professions. He has been a
S.C. licensed real estate broker since 1991.
Early in his career he worked in the appraisal department of a local
savings and loan bank and progressed through lending and management
positions. For several years he served as the president and general
manager of a large, S & L subsidiary focused on the development of
Woodside Plantation, a residential country club community in Aiken.
For over eight years, Mike held the position of assistant chancellor
for development and alumni affairs at the University of South
Carolina Aiken. Dedicated to the Aiken area Mike as also
served as a former President of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce.
Throughout his career, Mike has chosen to be very active in
community affairs and service organizations. He currently serves as
a board member, officer, or committee member of the following
organizations: Aiken Center of the Arts; Aiken Regional SPCA; Center
for African-American History, Art, and Culture; Friends of Hopelands
and Rye Patch; Historic Aiken Foundation. Mike and his wife, Lisa,
are both active supporters of the Hitchcock Woods Foundation and are
fortunate to live in a home bordering Hitchcock Woods.
As a native of Aiken, Mike’s enthusiasm for the community’s quality
of life is constantly re-enforced by its new residents. He has the
experience and knowledge to share the breadth of available
properties, from land to farms to equestrian communities, and
residential to commercial.
